Rae founded Hostetler Public Relations in 2000. The company provides public relations and communications support to clients of various shapes and sizes—from non-profits and corporations to sole proprietors and organizations of few to many. Projects range from strategic planning and execution of tactics (media relations, community relations, event planning, writing collateral materials and advertising) to project management and client coordination. All work is custom created based on the client’s needs and requests.

Rae began her communications career as a radio-television news journalist working for the NBC television affiliate in South Bend, Indiana. Subsequently she held the position of news director for South Bend’s number-one radio station. She transitioned to the public relations field when she moved to Indianapolis in 1993 and joined the staff at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where she was the editor of the bi-monthly members magazine Previews and managed media relations activities for museum exhibitions and educational activities.

From 1996 to 2000, Rae was public relations manager for Resort Condominiums International leading the company’s external communications strategies that were designed to build a positive image for the company and timeshare industry. Her primary responsibility was overseeing media relations activities, acting as company spokesperson and managing speaking opportunities. Other responsibilities included providing communications counsel to senior management, ghostwriting for executives, leading project teams, event planning and developing public relations strategies for internal and external audiences.

Rae graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and has attended classes at Butler University to earn her masters in business degree. She is a member of the Hoosier Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Rae focuses her pro bono hours on non-profits that support education and women. She is an advisory board member and communications committee chair for the Women’s Fund and a board member of Dress for Success Indianapolis.
